Taking Care of Your Toes

Winter is approaching fast and it is the best time to give your polished toes a break. Removing the polish and giving yourself a great buff will allow your toenails a little break. Ever notice white spots after you remove your nail polish? That can be due to dried out toe nails or no base coat (or a bad base coat).

Give yourself a pedicure and soak your feet in epson salt. Buff your toenails with a mens buffer and give your toes a nice winter break. If you have to wear polish make sure you apply a very good base coat first. Happy Holidays to All!!.

What Brand Do You Prefer?

Many nail techs, and salons have contacted me and asked me about the many no chip manicure brands. If you are interested in purchasing any products on a professional level please email me at

There are many gel products to choose from and so many are on the market today. The key is finding an experience nail tech that is skilled in applying gel. Match the skill with an excellent product and you've found yourself a nail tech for life.

According to the clients reviews, they absolutely love Gelish, CND, and OPI products. However, BioSculpture, and Calgel is a very high quality gel and once an individual learn of the product they will stick with BioSculpture, and/or Calgel.

BioSculpture Gel, and Calgel cannot be found in your nail stores and must be ordered through their website. However, waiting on delivery, and paying delivery charges, cause many salons to shy away from the two (not to mention the cost).  Again, it is a quality product.

I've tried nearly all brands, and all brands require the novice. If you would like to share your thoughts on the brand you prefer; please feel free to leave a comment.

Hand Models Needed

We are bloggers for the No Chip Manicure. We are always searching for models in the Chicago land area. We currently have two small spaces, one in Chicago, and one in Skokie. We are always searching for hand models. someone who is wiling to receive nail art on one or two fingers. All Nail Art we use are yours to keep ($18 product fee).

If you are interested in being a hand model you must text or call 312 888 1792. The spaces are small so we can only take one person at a time. This is not a nail salon sitting. So you cannot book a party or a two or more people. It is for one person at a time; for this is for the blog website. Sorry we do not do pedicures either. Pictures are taken after every sitting. We thank you for visiting our blog and please come back to visit.

How To Apply a No Chip Manicure

If you've reached this page you may be searching for how to apply the no chip manicure at home. Professional Nail Techs are welcome.  I will be posting my video on How to apply No Chip Manicure video in June 2015.

I am not here to promote any one (1) product. A No Chip Manicure is a gel application that consumers wear for two weeks or more. There are many brands on the market today. Consumers will walk in a salon and probably ask, 'How much is a No Chip Manicure?' or "Do you do the No Chip Manicure?'

Salons started calling all brands the No Chip Manicure, and consumers followed. The No Chip Manicure, 90%of the time is applied directly to the nail bed. They usually wrap fingers in aluminum foil & 100% acetone to remove product. So if you use one of the following brands (there are so many more, I can't remember them all) you are doing what's call a No Chip Manicure.

  • Gelish
  • DND
  • Entity
  • OPI Gel
  • CND Shellac
  • BioSculpture Gel
These above mentioned brands require a UV/LED Lamp.

Consumers started getting worried about the UV lamps (so many salons are using LED lamps), and the removal process.  If a No Chip Manicure is removed incorrectly can weaken if not damage your nail bed. WHATEVER  YOU DO NOT PEEL YOUR NO CHIP MANICURE OFF OF YOUR NAIL BED. YIKES!!

Currently, there are brands that does not require the UV or LED Lamp, and can sometimes last just as long as the mentioned brands. They are easily removed at home with acetone.Currently we have Vinyl Lux, and OPI Lacquer that some clients love.

DIY The No Chip Manicure

I have received many emails requested information on how to apply the no chip manicure at home. Many women are picking up the products and are trying to apply the product. My advice would be to leave it to the professionals to apply gel and/or acrylic products. However, many women are looking to save some money, and are searching for answers.

The number one question: Can I learn to apply the product on my own? And the answer is yes, you can apply it home. But keep in mind that you are not at the same angle when applying the product, and you sometimes get impatient when curing the product under the lamp. If you would like to learn how to apply the product, I will be teaching a class in Skokie, Il. for at home techniques. Please email me at Classes are held weekly.
